Monochrome is a massive trend to look out for this SS13.  Designers have shied away from girly cuts and softer palettes and presented us with a radically different direction.

Leading the way in our Monochrome movement is Marc Jacobs, who kicked off New York Fashion week with a jaw dropping black and white only catwalk.  He was closely followed by other designers like Jonathon Saunders whom in stark contrast to his previous pastels and sweet looking summer collections produced a punch packing black and white collection too, which only suggests we are amidst a huge shift in SS trends.

 Even though each designer has put their own take on this trend revolution whether it be Geometric themes and prints like Marc Jacobs or pretty and flowery like Prada, the key to this look seems to be simplicity. Bold shapes and sharp silhouettes give monochrome impact and stature that it’s pastel predecessor of SS12 just didn’t have and we love it!

Instead of couture and out there design concepts, this years London Fashion Week was all about work wear. Inspired collections from Mulberry to Burberry showcasing the art of power dressing peppered with style.  Pastels were prevalent with creamy hues of green, yellows, pinks and blues. Shape wise it was all simple cuts, pencil skirts, peplum and blazers.

House of Holland and Vivienne Westwood  showed that work wear doesn’t have to be dull with their fun takes on office chic. Renowned for their bold patterns and ostentatious designs even they reigned it in and presented a more ‘finished’ look with clean lines and more minimalist looks.
